Creating Pimox Virtual Machines can be difficult.\u00a0 The standard process to setup a VM in Proxmox VE just won’t work for Pimox. Instead, setting up a VM on a Pimox is a tricky process to follow and if it isn’t followed, the newly minted VM won’t actually boot.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The best instructions I found are below. All do it a little differently, go through them and find the one that works best for you. Either follow them religiously or piece together your own way using what you think is the best of each. For myself, it seems to be they key is to not add a CD\/DVD with the .iso until after VM creation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additional information<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Something a couple of the guides don’t mention – when booting a vm, the console screen will be black and say “display output is inactive” for what can seem like a long while. It’s ok, nothing is going wrong, just wait and the picture will come back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally, any instructions that have you set up a serial port to see the display while booting are wrong. You can do it using the default display option as shown in the above guides.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
